Janet  Heifetz
Janet Heifetz, nee Ruben, age 70. Beloved wife for 21 years of the wonderful Harry Heifetz. Daughter of the late Sol and Harriet Ruben. Sister of Al Ruben and Elaine Johannesen. Sister-in-law of Isaac and Michele Heifetz, Melanie Heifetz and Ann Censotti. Daughter-in-law of the late Lillian Joseph. Aunt of Rebecca Gahan, Joshua Ruben, Hillary Lev, Laena Jennifer Heifetz and great-niece Ava McRae. Beloved adopted aunt of Dov Kawamoto, Sam Keller, Matthew Landan, Nicole Cohen, Samantha Brie Lustig and Michelle Walby and their numerous children. Also known as Janet Frydman (1969-1976). Worked as a Social Studies teacher at Farragut High School (1968-1981). She changed careers to be an Information Technology professional: first at Sears; then worked for 25 years at Navistar Financial Corporation. An active part of the Dearborn Park Townhomes Association, Congregation Rodfei Zedek and Sisterhood. Funeral service Monday, 11 A.M. at Congregation Rodfei Zedek, 5200 S Hyde Park Blvd, Chicago, IL 60615. 1:30 PM Interment at Waldheim Cemetery, 18th and Harlem Ave., North Riverside.
