Herbert Elmer Gertz. WWII Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Jane Gertz nee Harris. Loving father of Lisa Gertz, Gwynne (David) Gertz, and Betsy Gertz. Proud grandfather of Alex Smerch. Wonderful companion of Zelda Starr with whom he traveled through elder Hostel. He was a successful Vice President at R.H. Donnelly, a drummer in his younger days, tennis player, consummate duplicate bridge player, and continual learner. Graveside service Friday 12Noon at Westlawn Cemetery, Norridge, IL. Remembrances in Herbert’s name to Roger Baldwin Foundation of the ACLU of Illinois, 180 N. Michigan Ave., #2300, Chicago, IL 60601 would be appreciated.
