Herbert Lee Kirshner, 82, a man who lived his life with integrity, love, intelligence and humor, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, July 23. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, April 2015, he continued to live life to its fullest. His strength and grace were a model for us all. Herb is survived by Sheila (nee Tepfer), his cherished wife and best friend for 58 years. Loving and generous father to Brian (Judy Thalheimer) and Susan. Brimming with pride for his grandchildren Jeremy and Jessica. A devoted son to the late Morris and Fannie Kirshner and brother to the late Benjamin. Herb was a dedicated teacher to his many students. Loved by family and friends. He represented everything that was kind and good in this world. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Graveside funeral services Tuesday, 10:30 am at First Krinker Aid Society Cemetery, Gate 225, Jewish Waldheim, 1700 S. Harlem Avenue, Forest Park. Memorial services to follow at 12:30 pm, Lakeside Congregation, 1221 County Line (Lake Cook Rd), Highland Park.
